Download Free Mobile App for NCPP

If you are attending the National Conference on Philanthropic Planning (NCPP) Oct. 14-16, you can download a free mobile app, which will allow you to do everything from setting your own personal conference schedule to making comments, uploading photos, locating exhibitors, winning prizes, and private-messaging other attendees. Sponsored by Pentera, the mobile app is available both for iPhones and androids.

"This is a really useful tool, especially for a conference of this magnitude," said Pentera President & CEO Claudine A. Donikian. "Those attending can use it to expand their professional network in addition to easily accessing all the useful information specific to the conference itself."

The free application is called NCPP 2014 and is available for iPhones at iTunes, https://itunes.apple.com/TR/app/id909365557 and for andriods at play.google.com, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=me.doubledutch.ncppannualconference&hl=en and other Web sites for apps. It is significantly upgraded from last year. Creator DoubleDutch describes it as allowing you to:

  • View schedules, explore sessions, and find networking events.
  • Create your own personal schedule for easy conference attendance.
  • Access location and speaker information at your fingertips.
  • See updates to sessions, keynotes, and exhibitor booths.
  • Interact with a real-time feed of all event activity that showcases which sessions are trending, most popular photos, and popular discussion topics.
  • Earn points, badges, and prizes for being active on the app and at the event.
  • See who is at the event and connect with them on the app.
  • Find exhibitors and sponsors and leave comments or ratings.

NCPP is in Anaheim, California, this year and features six education tracks designed to connect attendees with their closest peers and the most helpful content. On Oct. 16 on the Executive Briefing track, Ms. Donikian and co-presenter Una Osili of the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy present findings and implications from a new study in "Building Lasting Legacies: An In-Depth Look of Legacy Society Members."
